"I met Philipp Maier when Toto played at The Dubai Jazz Festival. After the concert, Philipp and I had a long chat about music and how it has affected both of our lives. I knew we would be very good, if not best friends someday. That day has arrived, and Philipp and I communicate many times each week. Recently, we worked together on the 'Rock Meets Classic Tour' in Germany and Switzerland. It was a great pleasure to hear the wonderful arrangements Philipp created for the Rock music of Toto, Foreigner, and Nazareth. Plus, he had some arrangements of a few Classical pieces that were extraordinarily beautiful. With Philipp at the Conductor's Post, he managed to turn an "average orchestra" into a fantastic one within two days. Not only were the featured vocalists: Lou Gramm (Foreigner), Dan McCafferty (Nazareth), and me (from Toto), having great fun under his direction, but the Orchestra, the great five-piece rock band, and 3 backing vocalists, were all elated with Philipp's arrangements and direction. I'm looking forward to the next time I get a chance to work with such a truly gifted Conductor/Arranger, and I'm also very honored to call Philipp my good friend."
Bobby Kimball (Toto) and Lead Vocalist with "YOSO"
Having worked with Philipp on the "Rock Meets Classic Tour" with the Bohemian Symphony Orchestra - Prague, and fellow singers Lou Gramm and Bobby Kimball, I found his musical ability second to none. His skill of communication with all the artists was superb. It was wonderful working with Philipp and I would look forward to working with him again in the future.
Dan McCafferty (Nazareth)
I recently had the pleasure of working with Philipp Maier in January of 2010. The project was “Rock Meets Classic” which included solo performances by Dan McCafferty of Nazareth, Bobby Kimball of Toto and myself. In addition to conducting the Bohemian Symphony Orchestra, Philipp took on the task of arranging these famous rock hits to not only feature the legendary singers that made them famous, but to showcase this wonderful orchestra and the talented RMC band and choir. Philipp handled all of this skillfully and was a constant source of inspiration throughout the three-week tour. I look forward to future performances under his the direction."
Lou Gramm (Foreigner)
I had the pleasure to work with Philipp on the "Rock Meets Classic" tour in January 2010 with the original singers from Foreigner, Toto and Nazareth, plus orchestra, band & choir. A very important factor in working with Philipp is that he understands all colors of music. I am looking forward to working with him again in the future on several new projects and Rock Meets Classic 2011.
